Hi there, many might not know that I am a Type 1 Diabetic and have been since 1987. I was 28 years old and at the prime of my career as a musician. I had been offered a job as a drummer with a band signed by EMI and was about to record an album. Of course, I accepted! Then I got sick, very sick, and was tested for everything except diabetes. I was losing weight rapidly and was drinking like a fish. The penny dropped, and I was rushed to the hospital to be stabilized. Two months later, I was back into the world and ready to continue my life. Sadly, the drumming job was gone, and to this day, I do not know who the band was, and I am not sure I want to. Life would become a battle, and I would take on every bump head-on, mostly on my own; as many will tell you, it is a lonely existence trying to manage a chronic disease like diabetes in a world that shows little empathy or knowledge.
Before music, there was sport; my siblings and I played many sports, and besides rugby, cycling was a secret passion of mine, even as a spectator. All I wanted as a kid was a racing bike; I never got one, but I wonder if I had what direction life may have taken. Sporting carnivals in New Zealand were a regular thing for the Manaena families. Besides the running and wood chopping, there were the cycling races.
Fast-forward to 2013, and I got my first racing bike, a Trek Madone, which is lightweight and very sexy gun metal grey. I also discovered Team Novo Nordisk, a team of cyclists who were diabetics. This was inspirational for me, so I began the mutual journey of cycling and diabetes.
I had to give up cycling after neck surgery but continued to follow Team Novo Nordisk's journey. New bike tech has arrived, and I may well get a more body-friendly bike and reap the benefits both physically and mentally. Oh, and of course, the creative side is back as well, especially with my music streaming services bringing Ma9na music to life.
Check out this video on the team, and please pass on this story and/or the link to anyone dealing with something they didn't choose but may need some inspiration. Ask them what they need, and you may be surprised how little it is... perhaps just a hug and shoulder for a moment, Ma9Na.

Poze Productions/Poze Records Inc. has been a music company for over 20 years. We began by selling instrumentals to artists who needed music to present to record labels. At the same time, we were assisting artists in shopping their music while establishing our reputation amongst labels. After developing numerous artists, we built a solid name with our label affiliates. We are capable of submitting your music to labels that typically do not accept unsolicited material from artists. As fellow musicians and artists, we understand the struggles of getting heard or signed. Therefore, we strive to keep our prices low while providing you with opportunities that you won't find elsewhere—true help in the music industry, much like the accessibility of music streaming services that have revolutionized how we share our creative works.

Originally launched in 2007 as a digital download platform for the French market, Qobuz expanded its reach in 2013, becoming the first CD-quality streaming service in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. It made its debut in the US in 2019. Unlike many popular music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music that use compressed audio formats, which can compromise sound quality, Qobuz offers a unique option for lossless streaming. Competing with services such as Amazon Music HD, Tidal HiFi, and Deezer, Qobuz stands out for audiophiles, much like how Ma9na music provides an enriching experience for those interested in the intersection of diabetes and music. As of 2021, Qobuz boasts over 70 million tracks in Hi-Fi quality and more than 424,000 albums in Hi-Res quality. Although it initially received little attention, the rapid growth of its extensive library has certainly captured the world's focus. The streaming service is accessible via a web player or a desktop player for Windows, featuring five tabs in the program window: Discover, My Playlists, Favorites, Purchases, and Offline Library. Hi-res albums are clearly marked with the recognizable 'Hi-Res Audio' logo in both the library interface and playback bar.
